I first worked with clay on Sunday afternoons in 2016.
It feels helpless to express what pottery means to me. (Maybe it is easier if you try it yourself. So, I can say, “See! Right?” You really should try it if you haven’t already though.) It is an extremely versatile medium that draws out much thoughtfulness from the artist.
My approach to art is rather open. I let my curiosity lead, following any inclination I have in a season: often, this means colorful underglazes and stains used to make playful illustrations. Still, my art always returns home to its Korean roots and tastes. I hope you will see my work as a reflection of my thinking and feeling, my curiosity and frustration. And, small things that catch my attention.
Thank you for stopping by and looking at my work! - Christina
